We have tried to create a flexible course that will allow you to develop practical skills as well as the theoretical knowledge needed to teach DT.

You can complete the course in a variety of ways:

Delivery Model
– Face to Face
– Online Only
– Blended version of Face to Face & Online

Workload:
– Full-time (up to 25 hours per week)
– Part-time (up to 12.5 hours per week)

If you complete the course part-time, then you will double the length of weeks that it takes.

SKEs are paid for by the DfE when this is required for a trainee teacher to have the subject knowledge needed to train as a teacher.

Bursary of £200 per week:
Trainees can draw down a bursary of £200 each week that they are on the SKE. This allows trainees to remain flexible in their approach. Should you want to reduce your working hours and work during the day, utilise your evenings and weeks or work in holidays, the funding allows you the flexibility to do so.

All funding is subject to eligibility criteria.

Course are fully funded if:

→ Your degree wasn’t in your chosen subject but is related

→ You studied the subject to A Level, but not degree level

→ You have an unrelated degree, but relevant professional experience

→ It’s been some time since you used studied your subject

→ You have gaps in your subject knowledge that need addressing for you to able to complete teacher training

In addition to these there are individual eligibility criteria that will be assessed on a case by case basis.
